Jurgen Siebert (46) read physics at Frankfurt. After graduating he shortly worked as a science journalist (for Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung), wrote his first specialist book, and moved to Hamburg where in 1986 he co-founded PAGE, the graphic arts magazine whose editor-in-chief he remained until 1991, when he moved to Berlin. Here, Siebert initially worked for the typeface publisher FontShop International before, in 1993, becoming the marketing director of the graphics software mail order house FontShop. In 1998, he founded hitext, an editorial office dedicated to visual communication and typography.
Jurgen Siebert is co-editor of the "FontBook" typeface encyclopaedia, a member of the FontFont Typeboard and, since November 2001, the Chief Marketing Officer of FontShop AG.
